This policy explains how Arctic Drive Wiki decides what to publish, how we label uncertainty and what happens when we get something wrong. It applies to every page, database entry and tool on the site.

Core principles

  • Accuracy over volume. A smaller number of correct pages is better than a large number of thin ones.
  • Primary sources over aggregation. We go to the developer, publisher or store page before we cite another guide.
  • Uncertainty is information. “Not announced” is a valid answer. It helps readers make a better buying decision than a confident guess.
  • No fabricated experience. We do not claim to have played a build, tested a route or interviewed a developer unless we actually did.
  • Corrections are normal. Pre-launch games change. A page that is wrong should be fixed, not defended.

Source hierarchy

When sources disagree, we use the following order:

  1. The developer or publisher directly. Official Steam announcements, the publisher press kit, the official website, patch notes and developer messages.
  2. The official store page. Steam and Xbox listings for release dates, features, languages, requirements and categories.
  3. Official screenshots and trailers. Used for what is visible, not for what we assume it means.
  4. Reputable media. Used for context or a date when a primary source is not available, and labeled as media.
  5. Community reports. We do not treat a forum post as a confirmed fact. We may use it to identify a question worth checking.

Every factual page has a source list with links and an access date. If a source is a store page that changes, the access date records what we saw.

Evidence labels

Database entries and guides use four labels:

Confirmed

The developer, publisher or official store page states it directly.

Observed

It appears in an official screenshot or a pre-launch build. The value or behavior may change.

Planned

It is on the official roadmap or in an Early Access statement, not necessarily in the current build.

Unconfirmed

We found no primary source. Treat it as unknown, not as a fact.

Updates and corrections

Each page shows a “last verified” date. That date means we re-checked the linked sources, not that we changed the wording. We do not change dates to pretend the page is fresh.

When a fact changes, we update the page and, where the change matters, note what changed. When a developer announcement contradicts an older page, the newer primary source wins. When a store page and a press release disagree, we show both and explain the conflict.

Corrections can be sent to [email protected]. A link to the primary source is the fastest way to get a fix published.

AI disclosure

This site is built with software assistance, including AI-assisted drafting and code generation. That is not a license to invent facts. Every factual claim is checked against the linked primary sources, and the site does not publish AI-generated “experience”, fake quotes, fake reviews or fabricated gameplay data.

If a page contains an error, it is the editor’s responsibility, not the software’s. We correct it the same way we would correct a human-written page.

Image use

We use official Arctic Drive screenshots and key art from the publisher’s press kit and Steam store page for identification and commentary. We credit the publisher and link the press kit. We do not use the official logo as our site logo, and we do not claim ownership of the game imagery.

If you are a rights holder and want an image removed or credited differently, contact us. We will respond to a reasonable request.

Advertising

The site may display advertising in the future. If it does, ads will be clearly labeled, kept separate from editorial content and will not influence rankings, recommendations or source selection. Ad partners must not be given personal data without a lawful basis and any required consent. The privacy policy will be updated before ad scripts are enabled.

We do not accept paid coverage, sponsored rankings or “best game” placements. Affiliate links, if ever used, will be disclosed.

Corrections contact

Email [email protected] with the page URL, the claim you believe is wrong and a primary source. We prioritize factual corrections over general feedback.
